  Biography of Luciano Vannoni

 Born in Rimini in 1956, he develops his first knowledge and experiences of the art’s world between the Roman Ruins, stacked up behind the Malatestian Dome, and the sixteenth century seminary laid aside, where he preferred to spend his free and meditative time.

 The ancient building was crammed in every sort of objects: statues, furniture, scientific and scholar instruments were its interior decoration with the same senseless order as we can meet in our funniest dreams. This place will put in motion his fancy and reveals a new world, secret and mysterious, which he will decipher signs and codes few years later than his fatal meeting with the metaphysical De Chirico’s paintings.

 Artistic matters were his strong suit, attention inherited by his family. From the first scholastic years he devotes himself to the Arts, creating mosaics, sculptures and paintings. Than he attends the Public Institue of Arts “Mengaroni” in Pesaro, where he discovers the art of ceramics amongst the other disciplines.  At the same time he develops the knowledge of other artistic techniques such as drawing and oil painting.

 In 1971, during an exhibition in Milan entitled “The Objects Metamorphosis” he meets the most celebrated De Chirico’s painting “The Disquieting Muses”. This is the starting point which will make him to take care of the metaphysical painting from that moment on, recognizing throughout that painting his artistic mood, unconsciously developped during his childhood.

After a study time spent to learn more about the techniques of oil painting throughout the reproduction of some Twentieth Century artist, he decides to dedicate himself only to the metaphysical painting over a backwards course to the discovery of the most suggestive places and environment according to De Chirico’s metaphysical painting time.
 The most important place amongst them was no doubt “Villa del Seminario”* close to Ferrara, where the artist has created some copies of his “Metaphysical Creations” as a tribute to the Great Master.
